What is SpeedIQ?
SpeedIQ is a free, independent internet analysis tool built for users who want to understand not just how fast their connection is, but how private and identifiable they are online. It combines a real-time speed test with 18 privacy and fingerprinting tools — all in one place, with no ads, no account required, and no data sold.
What we test
A standard speed test tells you download and upload speed. SpeedIQ goes further: it checks for DNS leaks, WebRTC leaks, IPv6 leaks, VPN detection, TLS fingerprints, canvas fingerprints, WebGL fingerprints, audio fingerprints, font enumeration, HTTP header exposure, ad blocker detection, and geolocation privacy — all in a single session.
The goal is to give privacy-conscious users a clear, honest picture of what their browser reveals to websites and trackers, independent of what any VPN or browser claims to protect.
Who built it
SpeedIQ was built by Vathanakone Prakosay, an independent developer focused on web privacy, network measurement, and browser security research. The project started in 2026 out of frustration with speed tests that ignore the fingerprinting dimension entirely — and with privacy tools that make claims without offering verifiable measurements.
Methodology
All tests run client-side in your browser. No results are stored server-side beyond anonymised aggregate statistics used to improve the tool. Test infrastructure is designed to avoid cross-session correlation: each test session gets a fresh context.
